Logging the film

Well apart from the regular stuff of life and work here in York, and a couple of 'adventures in arts-world', I have been engrossed in logging all the tapes from the December / January filming. Thankfully I am not working alone, the project has hired a production assistant, who is doing an excellent job -- I think between us there's about 120 hours worth of logging to be done to get every shot listed, named, described, rated, and all the interviews transcribed. And the crazy thing is that it's less than 7 weeks and I'll be returning out there again.

The research group, there's five of us now, had a first rough screening of some of the material a couple of days ago and I sensed some very strong enthusiasm and excitement about the material that we have. Issues that intrigue me are: what of it will become a pilot, what say the academic aspect of the project will have in how the pitch is shaped to sell it to TV, and by when it's all going to happen.
