Mozart Piano Concerto in A major (no. 12)
For the last three years this chap from a conservatoire in Austria, he's called Wolfgang Mastnak, he comes over and performs a Mozart piano concerto with the College string orchestra. It is so inspiring listening to him play -- Ian and I went to hear his lunchtime concert yesterday -- amazing! Today the challenge of listening and responding to everything whilst concentrating on playing my double bass is mind expanding. Wolfgang is full of so many surprises, twists, turns and nuances. He brings his humanity to his playing which makes it a joy to play with him and persuades me and, I believe the whole orchestra, to play with a bit more humanity ourselves.
