Hiroshima Peace Tree

My College was presented with a peace tree from Hiroshima. The ceremony was moving in parts. It has been a privilege to have been intimately involved in the planning. For the occasion itself I was playing the double bass in the orchestra. The music worked well, Charles Ives and Arvo Part. A new piece had been composed by a colleague for flutes, which matched up to the Ives and Part; that was worth celebrating too. My dad came up for it, we went out for afternoon tea.
